Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, is set to introduce a seaplane service connecting Baa Fulhadhoo with the broader Baa Atoll region. The new service will offer faster and more convenient travel options for those visiting B. Fulhadhoo, B. Fehendhoo, and B. Goidhoo.
The seaplane route is scheduled to commence on 31st March 2025, aligning with the Eid holiday period when travel demand is expected to rise. The journey will take just 25 minutes, providing passengers with a scenic aerial view of the Maldives’ turquoise waters and island landscape.
Bookings for the new service opened on 13th March, giving travellers ample time to secure their seats in preparation for the anticipated holiday surge. Travellers can make reservations through Maldivian’s website or by contacting the airline’s 24/7 call centre.
Maldivian’s latest addition reflects its continued efforts to expand domestic connectivity, serving 16 domestic airports alongside international routes. The airline’s fleet includes 25 aircraft, ranging from large A320 and A330 planes to Dash 8, ATR, and DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft designed for both standard and seaplane operations.
