From 8th March 2019 onwards, State Trading Organization (STO)’s staff’s maternity and paternity leaves have been extended. In line with this, maternity leave for female staff at STO have been extended for 180 days or 6 months. Paternity leaves were extended for 30 days or a month. Recipients of both leaves will be paid for the entire duration of their leaves.
Due to the change brought in the duration of leaves, staff who are currently on both paternity and maternity leaves will also be given leaves for the duration of the aforementioned leaves.
This change in the duration of maternity and paternity leaves was a 100 day pledge of the President Honorable Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He announced its confirmation in a ceremony held to commemorate International Women’s Day 2019 in Kaafu Maafushi on 7th March 2019.
