The Bank of Maldives (BML) has appointed Moosa Nimal as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO), recognising his extensive contributions to the institution and the banking sector. Starting his career at BML in 2003 as an Assistant at the Bank’s Main Branch, Nimal’s journey reflects a steadfast commitment to professional growth and excellence.
Over the years, Nimal has built an impressive portfolio, gaining significant experience across key banking areas such as branch operations, customer services, international banking, and retail banking. He has also been involved in numerous transformative projects within the Bank. Before his appointment as CBO, Nimal served as Director of Retail, Business & SME Banking, playing an important role in shaping the Bank’s services for individuals and businesses alike.
BML’s leadership highlighted Nimal’s proven expertise and deep understanding of the Maldives banking landscape, describing his appointment as part of the institution’s commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening its strategic goals.
Nimal holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Applied Finance from the University of South Australia and is an Affiliate Member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, holding a professional banker qualification.
