Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced an apprenticeship program specifically for women interested in working at MPL.
According to MPL, this program is part of the company’s efforts to eliminate bias and empower women with opportunities in the maritime and port industries. The program is geared towards youth between the ages of 18 to 35 years.
MPL has announced the following slots for the program:
- Welder x 2
- Carpenter x 2
- Marine Mechanic x 2
- Machinist x 2
- Electrician x 2
- Mechanic x 2
- AC/Refrigeration x 2
- Heavy Vehicle Operator x 2
Under the program, participants will be able to work in the field for 6 months, with a monthly salary of MVR 5000. There will also be job placement opportunities within MPL upon completion of the program.
