Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman has been appointed as a Finance Minister for PM Honorable Narendra Modi’s cabinet. With this, Ms. Sitharaman breaks the record as the first female finance Minister since Ms. Indhira Gandhi in 1970.
Ms. Sithraman received her bachelors degree in Economics from Seethalakshimi Ramaswamy College in Tiruchiraplli with her Masters in Econonmica from Jawaharal Nehru University in Delhi.
She previously served as the Defence Minister and Commerce Minister of India. She also worked as a Manager at BBC and as a Senior Manager R&D at Price Waterhouse. She also was an Assistant to Economist at the Agriultural Engineers Association of UK.
