Maldives State Shipping has announced the opportunity to apply for fully funded scholarships.
The available scholarships are under the company’s maritime human resources development programme, ‘Kalaaseen’. Under this programme, three scholarships are currently open.
The first is for a Navigation Officer Cadet Training Course, while the second is for an Engineer Officer Cadet Training Course. Both of these courses require a prerequisite of at least 2 A’level passes including physics, or a higher qualification. Applicants must also be between the age of 18 and 21. The course duration is 36 months for each of these two courses.
Upon successful completion of these two courses, there will be employment opportunities with MSS with an expected monthly income exceeding MVR 50,000.
The last scholarship opportunity is for the Reefer Technician course. This is a 12 month course, whereby applicants must have at least 3 O’level passes including physics, or a higher qualification. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 25.
The deadline to submit the application is 27th February 2022, before 1400hrs.
