MTCC Announces Temporary Suspension of Atoll Ferry Services on September 9

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has declared that they will suspend public ferry services in the atolls on September 9.

This decision has been made due to the upcoming presidential election scheduled for that day. Consequently, ferry services will be temporarily stopped in the atolls.

However, MTCC has reassured that ferry operations in Thaa Atoll, Laamu Atoll, and Meemu Atoll, along with Fuvahmulah City and Addu City, will continue without disruption through the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry services.

The suspension of ferry services will be effective solely on the day of the presidential election, with regular services resuming from September 10.

MTCC has expressed its regrets to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary pause in public ferry services in the atolls. The company has encouraged customers to reach out to its hotline at 1650 for further details or assistance.
