The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has mobilised the project site of HDh. Naavaidhoo Harbour Development Project on Thursday.
The project scope includes the dredging of a new harbour area of 41,618 cbm, in addition to refurbishing the existing harbour with a 15,329 cbm dredging operation. There will also be a channel dredging operation covering 15,320cbm.
Maritime construction will see the construction of a 300m breakwater, a 231m quay wall, a 73m revetment, and a 25m groyne. Furthermore, a 10mx9m concrete ramp and a 95mx2m concrete jetty are slated for construction.
Complementing the structural developments, MTCC plans to install 2,087 sqm of harbour pavement, accompanied by navigational and harbour lights, as well as mooring buoys.
The project is valued at MVR 47.5 million.
