MTCC Partners with Planning Ministry on Three Infrastructure Projects

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed a series of agreements with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, the agreements focus on development projects in Ha. Ihavandhoo, GDh. Madaveli, and GA. Kolamaafushi.

Representing MTCC during the signing was COO Shahid Hussain Moosa, while Fathimath Shaana Farooq, the Director General, represented the Planning Ministry.

The initial project concentrates on the Ha. Ihavandhoo Fish Collection Centre Harbour. The detailed agreement comprises dredging 47,161 cbm of the harbour basin at a depth of 5.5m MSL and an additional 3,060 cbm at 3.5m MSL. The plan also includes constructing a 42m revetment, a 129m sheet pile quay wall, and a 66m block quay wall. In addition, there will be the installation of bollards, v fenders, harbour lights, and a 3,437 sqm pavement. This endeavour is valued at MVR 60.26 million.

Another joint project is the GDh. Madaveli Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project. This endeavour includes 8.85 hectares of land reclamation works, a 450m drainage bioswale, 628.70m rock boulder revetment, and a 678m geobag revetment. The budget for this project is set at MVR 77.90 million.

MTCC is also collaborating with the Ministry on the GA. Kolamaafushi Land Reclamation Project. This project will see 9.16 hectares of reclamation activities and an 823m drainage bioswale. The total estimated cost for this endeavour is MVR 44.33 million.
