Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has provided updates on two harbour development projects.
Firstly, the design and build of Adh. Mandhoo Harbour Development Project is well underway. New entrance channel dredging operations are ongoing with 89% completion.
Scope of works for the project include dredging and excavation operations of 65,854cbm; the construction of a 236m quay wall; a 319m breakwater; a 71m revetment; a 50m groynes. Additionally, the installation of harbor streetlights, navigational aids and construction of 1180sqm of paved area will also be undertaken. The value of the project is MVR 34.1 million.
The Ga. Dhaandhoo Harbor Development Project is also progressing swiftly, according to MTCC. Dredging works are currently ongoing at the project site.
Scope of works involve, 52,099cbm of harbor dredging operations, 4953cbm of channel dredging operations, construction of a 30m groyne, a 333m breakwater, a 170m revetment, a 529m quay wall, installation of 1203sqm of harbor pavement. The value of the project is MVR 70.8 million.
