Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has provided updates on their ongoing projects at Ha. Ihavandhoo and K. Girifushi.
According to MTCC, dredging and reclamation operations for Ha. Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project is ongoing, with 54% completion. They have commenced rock boulder revetment works and is progressing well. The Ha. Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project consists of; 25 hectares of land reclamation; construction of a 850m rock boulder revetment. This project is valued at MVR 123.96 million.
Furthermore, MTCC also stated that the second shipment of rock boulders required for breakwater construction of K. Girifushi Harbor has been delivered to the project site on 13th February 2022. Breakwater bed preparation works are currently ongoing. Scope of works for this project include construction of a 268m breakwater and a 46m channel breakwater. This project is valued at MVR 18.3 million.
