Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is ready to provide bus services to the people of Male’ and atolls.
Five more buses are scheduled to be brought in later this month. Bus services will be provided in Male’ City, Addu City, Fuvahmulah, L. Gan to Fonadhoo and L. Isdhoo to Kalaidhoo.
The services provided by the Raajje’ Transport Link is in line with the government’s aim to connect the country with a high quality transport system. The services provided by the Raajje’ Transport Link include providing RTL ferry services and RTL bus services. While RTL ferry services have commenced in the northern Haa Atoll, preparations are underway to begin ferry services to Shaviyani Atoll.
The new mini buses brought to the country by MTCC will have a capacity of 18 or 20 people. Bus services will begin in the atolls on July 1, 2021. Bus services will also begin in Male’ City. As the largest transport provider in the Maldives, MTCC aims to provide affordable and land transport services to the public at the earliest opportunity.
The details of the routes and operation of the bus are as follows:
- Male’ City: 12 buses will operate from two routes.
- Addu City (Feydhoo to Hithadhoo) Eight buses from two routes.
- Addu City (Hulhumeedhoo): Four buses from four routes.
- Fuvahmulah City: Five buses from three routes.
- Laamu Mainland (Gan-Fonadhoo): Five buses from four routes.
- Laamu (Isdhoo-Kalaidhoo): Two buses from one route.
