MTCC Sign With Planning Ministry for Key Infrastructure Projects

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has formally entered into agreements with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for the execution of three vital projects in R. Maakurathu, AA. Mathiveri ADh. Omadhoo.

MTCC’s CEO, Adam Azim, and the Ministry’s Director General, Ms. Fathimath Shaan Farooq, both signed agreements, reaffirming their commitment to the projects.

The first project, the R. Maakurathu Shore Protection Project, stands to contribute significantly to coastal stability. The scope of operations encompasses a substantial 5579 cubic metres of backfilling activities, coupled with a 317-metre revetment. The project is valued at MVR 12.12 million.

The Aa. Mathiveri Reclamation Project falls under the purview of the agreements. This undertaking involves a meticulous sand search survey and extensive reclamation operations spanning 26.50 hectares. The project is valued at MVR 142.99 million.

Furthermore, the MTCC-Ministry partnership extends to the Adh. Omadhoo Shore Protection Project. This venture sets out to ensure the preservation of Adh. Omadhoo’s coastline through 18,976.25 cubic metres of beach nourishment and the installation of 214 metres of groynes. The project is valued at MVR 10.08 million.
