The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed two agreements with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure for the Lh. Naifaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project and R. Hulhudhuffaaru Shore Protection Project.
The agreements were formalised through signatures on behalf of MTCC by its Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Shahid Hussain Moosa, and on behalf of the Ministry by Ms. Fathimath Shaana Farooq, the Director-General.
Lh. Naifaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project encompasses a comprehensive set of operations, including the reclamation of a substantial 20.95 hectares of land, the construction of a 359-metre-long revetment, a 1600-metre low-crested breakwater, and a 180-metre groyne. The total value of the project amounts to MVR 141.29 million.
Additionally, the R. Hulhudhuffaaru Shore Protection Project includes the construction of a 473-meter groyne, a 320-metre revetment, a 100-metre low-crested breakwater, and the execution of beach nourishment operations totaling 20,500 cubic meters. The project’s estimated value stands at MVR 32.33 million.
