On Thursday, a ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project, “Centara New Resorts Maldives: Reclamation of 3 Different Islands” by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The ceremony held at Centara Hotels and Resorts was graced by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Aslam, Minister of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure, His Excellency Mr. Akram Kamaludheen, Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, His Excellency Mr. Shifaz Ali, Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Ms. Prapaijit Thongma, Area General Manager of Centara Grand Island and Centara Ras Fushi, CEO Adam Azim and management team of MTCC.
Scope of works for the project include reclamation of 3 artificial islands at Vattafaru. Each of these islands has an area of 7 hectares. “Centara New Resorts Maldives: Reclamation of 3 Different Islands” project awarded to MTCC by Lagoon Assets Pvt Ltd is valued at USD 26.29 million. The project was completed on 24th November 2021. The completion of “Centara New Resorts Maldives: Reclamation of 3 Different Islands” is a milestone in the 40 year long history of MTCC as it is the most extensive international project in value.
