The new Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Finland, Ahmed Latheef presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinisto at a ceremony held in Helsinki.
During the meeting held after the Presentation of Credentials, Ambassador Latheef conveyed to President Niinisto warm greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives and expressed his desire to work with Finland to further strengthen the close and cordial relationship between the two countries.
President Niinisto assured continued support of Finland to efforts of small island states to address climate change issues.
The Ceremony was attended by Hussain Jahhaz, Second Secretary at the Maldives Embassy in Germany.
