The previously announced MVR 5 coin is going to be released as a note that is in line with the current series of new notes released last year.
Governor Azima spoke to the press today and stated that change from a coin to a paper note was to ensure that the public would not face any difficulties with the transition as the MVR five has always been a note and the introduction of a coining would disrupt easy flow of the money. In addition to this a completely new roleau of coins for MVR 2 would be released in the coming year as well.
