Maldives Travel Awards (MTA) is now open for nomination in 45 categories featured across the three separate editions of the Awards, that collectively represents the resorts, guesthouses, hotels liveaboards and people in the travel industry.
Travel businesses delivering outstanding performance in the industry are encouraged to submit nominations for the Awards before the deadline of 15th August 2019.
Nominations are registered through online platform on MTA official website www.travelawards.mv.
The exclusive Guesthouse Edition of the Awards, features 14 categories including special accolades for the Guesthouse Islands in addition to three categories, awarded by MATATO.
Winners in the Guesthouse Edition are selected based on their ratings on TripAdvisor- world’s largest travel website- and the popular vote, collected through online and SMS voting platforms.
Winners will be announced in September 2019 honored at the award function to be hosted in AA. Thoddoo.
The Gala Edition, exclusive for resorts, hotels, liveaboards and airlines, features 25 categories.
In 2019 MTA will adopt a new format to evaluate and judge the nominees in the Gala Edition. 60% of the score will be provided by a panel of expert travel professional selected from leading local and international travel institutions, who will score each nomination based on the presentations provided by the nominees while popular vote will account for the remaining 40% of the score.
Winners will be honored at the Travel Awards Annual Gala – dubbed as the premier travel event of the year.
First launched in 2012, MTA recognizes exceptional achievements across a wide spectrum of sectors in the travel industry, acknowledging and honoring the very best that the Maldives travel industry has to offer.
2019 marks the 8th Anniversary of Maldives Travel Awards which is produced and presented by Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators, MATATO.
