Ambassador of Maldives to the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Ahmed Latheef presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Harald V, King of Norway as the Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to Norway at a ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Oslo on Friday.
During the Credential Ceremony, Ambassador Latheef conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President and the people of Norway. Ambassador Latheef further expressed commitment to work closely with the Norwegian Government to enhance the bilateral relationship between both countries.
During his visit to Norway, Ambassador Latheef met with Director Mr. Mattis Raustøl, and Senior Adviser Ms. Anne Glad Fredriksen, at the Section for South Asia and Afghanistan and Mr. Torgeir Larsen, Deputy Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and discussed on further strengthening the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Latheef also paid a call on Her Excellency Maw Maw, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Oslo.
Ambassador Latheef also met with Ms. Helga Cotgrove, CFO and Mr. Filippo Comelli, EVP for Project Finance & and project Development of Norsk Solar and discussed with them about expansion of renewable energy projects in the Maldives. He also had a meeting with Mr. Gunnar Stølsvik, Specialist Director at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries of Norway and discussed projects being implemented under the Blue Justice Initiative.
