Nurain Janah featured on the cover of international M2Woman Magazine

Maldivian Chartered Accountant in New Zealand, Nurain Janah Mohamed Ali has been featured in the M2Woman Summer 2019 edition.

Nurain Janah has been noted as one of the most influential people in New Zealand due to her works to create a more equitable world through mentoring, storytelling and influencing decision-makers through governance and leadership roles.

She moved to New Zealand at a young age where she grew up in Auckland and has dedicated much of her time giving back to the community through her volunteer work and as a speaker, facilitator and social entrepreneur.

Nurain is currently a Trustee of the UpsideDowns Education Trust as the Treasurer of 350 Aotearoa, the New Zealand arm of a global climate movement as well as a Senior Consultant – Corporate Restructuring, Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young.

She has represented New Zealand at the 2017 UN Commission on the Status of Women advocating for young women of color in the workplace.

She is the founder of Authenticity NZ, a social enterprise startup that intends to identify the needs of young women and direct them to relevant organizations that can help them through career guidance and work experience or volunteering opportunities.

She was awarded the Waitematā Local Board Good Citizens Award for her work establishing the Waitematā Youth Collective in 2015 and was recognized as a finalist in the 2017 Women of Influence Awards.

Currently 29 years-old, Nurain continues her involvement with the Junior Chamber International (JCI) as a Corporate Partnerships Committee Member, having served as one of only four women National Presidents in the Asia Pacific region.
