The Non- Resident High Commissioner of Republic of Maldives to Australia, His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak presented his Letter of Credence to the Governor-General of Australia His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), at a ceremony held virtually at the Australia House yeterday morning.
During the virtual courtesy call following the Credential Ceremony, the Governor General of Australia congratulated High Commissioner Omar on assumption of his duties as Non-Resident High Commissioner of Maldives to Australia and reaffirmed the commitment of the Australian Government to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
High Commissioner Omar expressed his gratitude for being given the honour to present his Letter of Credence and serve as the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Maldives to Australia. High Commissioner Omar also conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the Governor, and People of Australia. High Commissioner Omar further expressed commitment to work closely with the Australian Government during his tenure with a renewed focus in enhancing bilateral and multilateral relationship, also focusing on areas of promoting trade, tourism, and education and capacity building.
The ceremony held virtually at the Australia House, was hosted by Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives His Excellency David Holly and his spouse, Monica Holly. Australian High Commissioner was accompanied to the ceremony by Second Secretary at the Australian High Commission Ms. Lara Sveinsson. High Commissioner Omar and Spouse, Aminath Zahir was accompanied to the ceremony by Deputy Head Mission, Khadeeja Najeeha of the High Commission of Maldives in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
