Finance ministry’s statistics show that the governmental expenses on the first 5 days of 2019 is a total of MVR 4013. The biggest amount was spent by Home ministry of MVR 2600 while MVR 1243 was spent by the health ministry, MVR 95 by the tax appeal tribunal and MVR 75 by MIRA.
The state provides for 52 sectors. For this year, the People’s Majlis has finalized a budget of MVR 30.25 billion. The amount of estimated free aid is totaled at 23.3 billion for the year 2019.
In the budget for 2019, MVR 7.9 billiob is estimated to be spent as recurrent expenditure. This is an increase of 4.9 percent compared to the 7.5 billion in the year 2018.
