Ooredoo Maldives has successfully concluded its annual Color Run with the special launching of “Wif-Fi calling” or “voice over Wif-Fi”.
The service was launched during the final component of the Color run festivities, the music festival which took place at the Central Park in Hulhumale’.
“Wif-Fi calling” was officially launched by the CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Najib Khan and the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Minister said that this is a huge technological advancement for the Maldives and that everyone can benefit from this service.
The newly launched service provides an option for families and individuals when a cellular signal is weak or unavailable. Customers can make a voice call via a Wif-Fi network whether their phone is on flight mode.
Ooredoo Maldives has revealed that the service can be used from phones which are integrated with the latest technologies in the market including iPhone 11, Huawei Pro and P10.
