Ooredoo Maldives Drone Race 2023 Soar to Success

Ooredoo Drone Race 2023 – the first-ever drone race of the Maldives, which concluded on 23rd December 2023 at Hulhumale Central Park. A total of 12 talented pilots competed in two categories, showcasing their drone racing skills. Eight pilots skilfully guided their drones through four challenging obstacles in the Sky Walker Category. At the same time, the Sky Elite Category brought more excitement as four participants navigated through 9 obstacles to finish 2 laps in the fastest time.

In the Sky Elite Category, Mohamed Alin Shafiu dominated, securing first place at 1:00:55 and winning a DJI Mini 3 Pro (DJI RC). Hamza Waseem claimed second place, completing the race in just 1:06:11, and securing Ooredoo 5G AirFibre Device with a 3-month (1536 GB) package, while Hussain Aloof Riyaz secured the third spot with a timing of 1:08:10, winning aMoolee Voucher worth MVR 2000.

In the Sky Walker Category, Ibrahim Shabil claimed the top spot, navigating through 4 challenging obstacles with an impressive time of  01:11:78 and securing the championship. Shabil took home the first prize—a DJI Mini 2 SE. Asham Shareef secured second place at 01:25:94, winning an Ooredoo 5G AirFibre Device with a 3-month (750GB) package. At the same time, Mifzal Ibrahim Fazeel clinched third place, crossing the finish line in 01:27:36 and receiving a Moolee Voucher worth MVR 1000.
