Ooredoo Maldives Named Digital Partner for World Travel Awards 2026

Visit Maldives Corporation has appointed Ooredoo Maldives as the official Digital Partner for the World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean 2026, as preparations continue to host the international tourism event in the Maldives.

The agreement was signed by Visit Maldives Corporation Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and Ooredoo Maldives Chief Business Officer Rajesh Mehta.

Through the partnership, Ooredoo Maldives will provide digital infrastructure and connectivity support for the event, which is expected to bring together tourism organisations, destinations, hospitality brands, media and other industry stakeholders from across the region.

The World Travel Awards recognises achievement across the international travel and tourism sector. Hosting its Asia, Oceania and Indian Ocean ceremony gives the Maldives a platform to engage directly with global industry partners while promoting the destination to international audiences.

Ibrahim Shiuree said the event’s delivery would depend on reliable support from partners. “Hosting an international event of this scale requires strong collaboration and reliable support from our partners. We are pleased to partner with Ooredoo Maldives and look forward to working together to ensure a memorable experience for delegates, industry partners and media attending the World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean 2026.”

Ooredoo Maldives said its role would draw on its experience in enterprise connectivity, ICT solutions, managed services, hosted solutions and data centre services, including solutions used by tourism-sector businesses.
