Ooredoo Maldives was honoured with the “Small Markets Telco of the Year” award at the prestigious Twimbit Awards, which took place at the St. Regis Singapore on Tuesday. Three nominees, including Ooredoo Maldives, Dhiraagu, and DST from Brunei, contested the award, which was clinched by Ooredoo Maldives.
Khalid Al-Hamadi, CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, expressed gratitude and pride in receiving the award. He stated, “We are humbled and honoured to receive the ‘Small Markets Telco of The Year’ award at the Twimbit Telecom Awards 2024. This is a testament to our incredible team’s hard work and dedication, whose relentless efforts have made this achievement possible,”
He added, “As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and excellence in the telecom industry.”
The Twimbit Awards, a significant event in the Asia Pacific region, saw participation from major telecommunications and technology companies, including Bharti Airtel, Singtel, Starhub, Rakuten Mobile Japan, Reliance Jio, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and China Mobile, among others.
The Twimbit Telecom Awards, which recognized excellence across 23 categories, celebrated achievements such as Telco of the Year, Small Markets Telco of the Year, and Telco to Techco of the Year.
Global technology company F5, known for securing and delivering exceptional digital experiences, served as the Strategic Partner for the event, while DNA acted as the media partner.
Other companies honoured at the ceremony included SKT, Reliance Jio, PCCW, Telstra, Optus, and Bharti Airtel.
