Over MVR 3 billion has been spent from this year’s budget.
According to statistics publicized by the Finance Ministry, MVR 3,085.3 billion has been spent from the budget as of 23rd February 2022.
Of this, MVR 2.3 billion has been spent as recurrent expenditure, while MVR 1.4 billion has been spent as administrative and operational expenses.
MVR 699.4 million has been spent on capital expenditure so far this year. Of this, MVR 8.6 million was spent on purchases, and MVR 233.4 million was spent on land and infrastructure. MVR 295.0 million was spent on infrastructure assets.
The Parliament has approved a total state budget of MVR 36.9 billion for the year 2022. MVR 24.3 billion is expected to be generated as income and grant aid for the budget, while MVR 34.1 billion is expected to be spent as expenditure.
