Freedive Maldives has opened participant registrations for Neyvaa 2, an attempt to a new world record for the most number of people performing static apnea simultaneously.
All those who wish to register from the participating resorts for the event can now start the registrations by contacting the resort HR departments.
Participating resorts for Neyvaa 2 are Filitheyo Island Resort, Sun Island Resort & Spa, Royal Island Resort & Spa, Paradise Island Resort & Spa, W Maldives, Jumeirah Maldives, One & Only Reethi Rah, Grand Park Kohdhipparu, Crossroads Maldives, Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru and Soneva Fushi.
All participants will be given the proper four-day training programme, which includes static apnea training, safety diver training and training the trainer. The main requirement to take part in the event is to hold your breath underwater for about 2 minutes, which does not necessarily require any previous diving or swimming skills.
The event is scheduled to take place on 01st October 2022, as part of the celebrations of this exceptional year marking 50 years – the Golden Jubilee celebration of tourism in the Maldives.
Neyvaa 2 is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI). A documentary detailing the whole event from planning to execution process is also in motion by Freedive Maldives and this documentary is planned to be released through Netflix/Amazon Prime and YouTube.
