PCB Appoints Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim as Chairman of HDC

Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) appoints Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim as the chairman of Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

On the 22nd of November 2018, numerous members of state-owned enterprises (SOE) were dismissed. This includes the former chairman of HDC Mohamed Shahid.

The board of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) now consists of Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim as the chairman, Suhail Ahmed as Managing Director, Ibrahim Afrath, Abdulla Rameez, Ahmed Athif and Hassan Muneer as Directors.

The appointment of Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim as the Chairman of HDC falls at a time the government decided to merge Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Limited (GMIZL) with HDC.

Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Limited (GMIZL) was formed during the previous administration for the management of Gulhifari and Thilafushi while Housing Development Corporation was formed during the administration of Former President Abdulla Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom in order to manage the Youth City, Hulhumale’.
