In a recent announcement, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that the long-awaited completion of The Gardens and K-Park Residence flats in Hulhumale, developed by private entities, will be achieved within the next six months. The construction of Jaah’s The Gardens flats and K-Park flats, initially commissioned to a foreign company, had been stalled for seven years, causing significant financial losses to buyers of these properties.
He highlighted that his administration had previously assisted individuals who were displaced from flats constructed in Gulhi lagoon during the tenure of the previous government. Urbanco took charge of completing The Gardens flats in July of the previous year, a development confirmed by President Solih, who assured that the project would be concluded and handed over to the buyers within the next six months. Additionally, the President detailed several measures to address similar issues faced by buyers of K-Park flats, drawing parallels to how the previous government allocated islands for resort development.
These measures include initiating legal proceedings to refund individuals who had made payments for the flats and encountered financial setbacks.
