President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed warm congratulations to Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri following her appointment as the 18th Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco.
In an official letter dispatched on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, President Muizzu described the appointment of Morocco’s first female Prime Minister as a historic milestone for both the Kingdom and the wider Arab region. He highlighted that El Mansouri is only the second woman in the Arab world to hold the position of head of government, marking a significant development in regional political leadership.
According to the press release by the President’s Office, President Muizzu commended the appointment as an inspiring example of female leadership globally, while reaffirming the Maldives’ ongoing commitment to advancing women’s rights and encouraging their involvement in public governance.
Reflecting on the relationship between the two nations, the President underscored the long-standing friendly ties between the Maldives and Morocco, which rest on mutual respect and shared cooperation.
