President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih departed on Sunday for Faresmaathodaa Island in the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll to join celebrations to mark the 42nd Fishermen’s Day. During the visit, the President will attend the official function to mark Fishermen’s Day tonight.
On Faresmaathodaa Island, the President will also visit the stands at the Fisheries Expo and attend a fish-filleting contest organised on the occasion by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture.
During the visit, the President will also meet the fishermen’s community and inquire about their work. He will also discuss developmental plans and inquire about pertinent issues at a meeting with the Island Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Faresmaathodaa Island.
The President will conclude his visit and return to Malé City on Monday, December 12, 2022.
