President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has, on Wednesday, appointed Aishath Rasheed as the Minister of State for Health and Abdul Shukoor Abdul Hakeem to the post of Deputy Minister of Health.
Aishath Rasheed previously served as the Minister of State for Gender, Family and Social Services, while Abdul Shukoor Abdul Hakeem served as the Deputy Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, up until their new appointments.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had also declared that the National Drug Agency (NDA) would henceforward function under the Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services previously oversaw functioning of NDA.
The President made the decision under the powers vested upon him in Article 116, Section (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
