The deadline for filling out the online survey is March 10th.

According to the ministry, the solar PV energy system has proved to be cost-efficient, saving MVR 5.4 million and MVR 3.5 million worth of fuel for HA. Ihavandhoo and HA. Kelaa, respectively; HDh. Nolhivaram and Hdh. Makunudhoo also saved MVR 3.5 million in fuel costs as well.

The main objective of the survey is to gather public opinion on the concept and designs of solar PV installations under the ARISE project and to increase the participation of the community in the implementation of such development projects. Therefore, the Ministry requests as many people as possible to participate in this survey.

The ministry’s ARISE project is a World Bank-funded project to increase private investment in renewable energy in Maldives by reducing the dependence on oil for electricity generation. The project includes addressing the challenges of attracting private investments and creating an investment-friendly environment.
