Twenty eight businessmen selected through bidding for the stalls on the newly constructed Hulhumale Island Market have signed their agreements.
While the market was opened under the name ‘Rashu Market’, the other 25 people will be signing the agreement today. The Managing Director of Hulhumale Development Corporation (HDC), Suhail Ahmed stated that with this 25, the total number of slots leased will be 53.
While there are more slots left, Suhail stated that they will be opened to bid on a later date. There were special slots allocated for the souvenir businesses, however, due to the lack of support for these businesses, those slots will be leased later.
According to HDC, the current slot size is 69 square feet, the monthly rent of each slot is now rated at MVR 3,500.
