Six Senses Laamu Wins Plastic Pollution Innovator at ADEX 2019

Six Senses Laamu has received recognition on a global scale at Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) held in Singapore for their commitment to be plastic free by 2022. The resort was awarded the BlueGreen 360 award in the category “Plastic Pollution Innovator”.

The resort has taken several initiatives against plastic such as partnering with a sustainable packaging company to use plastic-free food shipment packing. They also hold weekly reef clean-ups to collect rubbish littered in their house reef and nearby reefs.

Six Senses Laamu is the sole resort in Laamu atoll which is just an inter-island plane trip from Malé International Airport and a short boat ride away. Cuisines from both East and West is offered at Six Senses which are created from organic products grown in the resort’s gardens.

BlueGreen360 Awards celebrates businesses and individuals that are pioneers in implementing sustainable solutions in their day-to-day operations and making a positive impact in the communities where they operate. This year’s awards also highlights businesses that are implementing solutions to tackle ocean plastic pollution.
