State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) announces that work is underway to install the generator set by STEWO of STW400 to Gulhi Powerhouse to increase the electricity capacity in K. Gulhi.
Once the generator is commissioned and operational, STELCO states that Gulhi’s capacity will be increased from 744kW to 968kW.

These generators are built by STELCO engineers working at STEWO, whom the Managing Director of STELCO, Mr. Hassan Mughnee has lauded as highly experienced and qualified for their roles. He also stated that the generators built by STELCO are of the same quality as any other generator that can be bought from foreign countries and can be used for a long period of time.
STELCO aims to make Maldives a country that thrives in the engineering field. The company is also planning to begin electric car assembly in the future as well.
