State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has revealed that the development of a new daycare centre is nearing completion.
The development of the daycare centre is aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by working parents in caring for their children during work hours.
STELCO stated it is working on importing some of the equipment needed for the centre. STELCO will be the first state-owned company to establish daycare services for its working staff.
Apart from STELCO, Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is also developing a 3,000-square-foot, six-storey daycare centre in Hulhumale’. The building is being developed with state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate children with special needs.
The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services is currently in discussions with more companies to establish daycare centres.
