Teaching Tube Website Gains International Recognition

Teaching Tube (www.teachingtube.com) has gained recognition from students around the world. This website was inaugurated on 29th April 2017 by the First Lady of Maldives, Madam Fathimath Ibrahim. This website was designed with the aim of providing opportunity to all the students across all the islands of Maldives to study online and to break the physical boundaries between students in remote locations with leading teachers across the world; in other words, a platform for the next generation learning.

Since its official launch, the website has been visited by individuals from 30 different countries with total registration reaching over 4000 students currently. Highest percentage of visitors were from Maldives, followed by India, Sri Lanka, Australia and United States respectively. This website was also visited by individuals from Malaysia, United Kingdom, China, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Fiji and Brunei.

This website aims in providing students the access to qualified tutors wherever they are before they sit for O’Level or A’Level examinations. Students are required to pay a one-time fee of yearly $99 per subject to gain access to stream high quality recorded lessons from highly-qualified teachers, authors and industry experts. It was created by a group called Islanders Education in collaboration with Dhiraagu.

It took 5 years for the development of this website which contains 100GB of educational data. The creators of this website will be conducting a national tour from July to September this year where they will visit 11 atolls, 35 islands in providing tutorials to students about this learning platform.

Dhiraagu, the largest telecommunication company of the Maldives is the digital service partner of this website. Furthermore, they have also partnered up with Pro Designers Pvt Ltd, one of the leading web and mobile app development, video animation, 3D modelling and technology company in the Maldives.

Additionally, this website also comprises of Artificial Intelligence where it is used to generate reports or feedbacks from students. The Artificial Intelligence reports for this website was designed by an Indian company known as Report Bee Company, which was listed by BETT UK as one of the “Top 3 Innovative Ed-Tech firm in Asia”.

With the launch of this educational website, it can be concluded that this is a vast drift for the educational system of Maldives where it will be immensely convenient for students living all across Maldives.
