His Excellency Mohammed Bello Abioye, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Maldives has paid a farewell visit to His Excellency Ahmed Latheef, Foreign Secretary, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning, Foreign Secretary Latheef thanked the High Commissioner for the cooperation extended to the Maldives during his tenure as the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Maldives and expressed hope for continuing the friendly relations between the Maldives and Nigeria.

The High Commissioner thanked the Government of Maldives for the support and cooperation extended during his term, noting that it has been an honour to serve as the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Maldives and assured Nigeria’s commitment to the bilateral relationship with the Maldives.
Discussions also focused on enhancing the friendly ties between the two countries, including cooperation in the tourism and fisheries sectors.
Foreign Secretary Latheef was accompanied by Ms. Mariyam Reesha, Joint Secretary and Ms. Aminath Abdulla, Senior Desk Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
