TMA signs agreement with Addu International Airport to start seaplane operations in Gan Airport

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has on Tuesday signed an agreement with Addu International Airport to setup and operate a seaplane base in Gan Airport.

According to TMA, Gan Airport “will mainly cater to the requirement of the Resorts/Hotels both in Addu and Huvadhoo Atoll” and is a move in line with “TMA’s endeavor to fuel growth and development in Maldives.”

TMA said that with the commencement of seaplane operations in South, “it will ease the logistics and further enhance the holiday experience of tourists travelling to the southern destinations of Maldives.”

It further noted that the agreement signed with Gan Airport will be in the best interest of the community “as it will give an option for logistics for passengers in south region and will create more job opportunities with the commencement of this operation.”

TMA said that it has started the initial setup process and expects to make the base at GAN operation ready within three months.
