The Ministry of Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the council of Sh. Bileifahi to expand tourism in the island.
The MOU was signed by Minister of Tourism, Mr. Abdulla Zameer from the tourism ministry, and Mr. Abdulla Ziyadh, President of the Bileifahi Council, represented the island, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Tourism.
The Council plans to develop the sandbank at Sh. Bileifahi with Water Villas and a full range of tourist facilities. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Mr. Ziyadh expressed his confidence that the facilities would be completed within three months, and this would bring prosperity for all residents of the island and nearby surrounding islands.
