According to the latest Tourism Ministry statistics, tourist arrivals to the Maldives have reached 713,741 so far this year.
The latest statistics published by the Ministry revealed that 713,741 visitors have been welcomed between 1st January and 21st August 2021.
Of this, 101,374 visitors have been welcomed so far this ongoing month, which is 1,826.5 percent higher than the number recorded in the same period last year. Furthermore, according to the statistics, an average of 3,063 tourists are visiting the Maldives every day this year.
Russia currently dominates the arrival market contributing 22.0 percent of market share. Russia is followed closely by India making up 18.9 percent of the market. Germany is the third top source market, contributing 5.7 percent of tourist arrivals.
United States, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Kazakhstan, United Kingdom and France are also considered some of the other top source markets for the Maldives.
