Hummingbird Travel hosted their 8th annual Training event, Uncover Maldives, on the 17th of September 2019.
This year’s event was held at The Victory Services Club in Marble Arch. 71 hotels from the Maldives and 150 agents from leading tour operators and travel agencies across the UK, Europe and America attended the event.
Hummingbird also showcased their upgraded online booking system along with state-of-the-art virtual reality maps of the Maldives in partnership with Geko Digital.
Hummingbird Travel is a London based, Indian Ocean B2B specialist, handling Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Seychelles.
The agents had a 10-minute meeting with the hotels of their choice. The evening was rounded off with a prize draw of 40 holidays worth over $200,000 to the Maldives.

Maldivian Ambassador to the UK, Dr. Faraha Faizal highlighted that the Maldives is a great destination for teenagers, however “on the brochures we see only honeymooners and kids’ clubs for little ones, but we don’t see much about what teenagers can do? And asked the audience to help us answer this question?” She also thanked the UK travel trade for the business they send to the Maldives and she sees it as improvement in educations for the children of the Maldives, improvement in healthcare for the children of the Maldives and a better future for the children of Maldives.
