UNESCAP’s 80th Commission Session in Bangkok Kicks Off Today

The 80th Commission Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) commenced today in Bangkok, attracting delegates from various nations. Among them is a delegation from the Maldives, led by Dr. Hussain Niyaaz, Secretary of Economic and Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This session, operating under the theme “Leveraging digital innovation for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific,” provides a platform for regional collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable development goals.

With a focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, delegates will explore ways to expedite its implementation through the strategic use of digital innovations.
