Velana International Airport (VIA) and the Maamahi Executive Lounge have been nominated in two categories at the World Travel Awards 2026.
According to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), the World Travel Awards nominated VIA for the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport 2026 while the Maamahi Executive Lounge was nominated for Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport Lounge 2026.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards function as a global benchmark for excellence across the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. MACL states that these nominations demonstrate the company’s continuous commitment to enhancing airport services, elevating the overall passenger experience, and strengthening Velana International Airport’s position as the principal gateway to the Maldives.
