Villa College Announces Admission to Bachelor of Pharmacy Programme

Villa College has announced the commencement of applications for its new Bachelor of Pharmacy programme, set to launch later this year as part of the September intake.

The institution unveiled a comprehensive three-tiered entry system during a press conference on Sunday.

Bachelor of Pharmacy – Entry Level for New Students

Prospective students entering the programme as new entrants must meet specific academic requirements. Eligibility criteria include passing a minimum of three subjects, with a focus on A-level chemistry and physics. Alternatively, candidates can qualify with an MNQF level 4 certification in a related field, complemented by an O-level or equivalent English proficiency pass. The programme duration spans a total of four years.

Bachelor of Pharmacy – MNQF Level 5 Diploma Holders

For individuals holding a diploma at MNQF Level 5 in Pharmacy, an accelerated entry route into the programme’s third year is available. Students opting for this path should possess a two-year diploma qualification.

Bachelor of Pharmacy – Advanced Diploma in MNQF Level 6 for Experienced Applicants

Candidates who hold an advanced diploma at MNQF Level 6 in Pharmacy can directly enter the programme’s fourth year. This pathway necessitates a three-year advanced diploma qualification.

Throughout the programme’s duration, students will undertake an international internship to gain practical experience. Additionally, in the final year, they will embark on a field trip to a recognised pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to gain insights into Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality standards. The programme is designed to accommodate working professionals, allowing them to attend classes while employed.

The deadline for programme applications is September 16, 2023 (Saturday). It is important to note that the programme holds approval from both the Maldives Qualification Authority and the Allied Health Council.
