The Chinese Language Centre at Villa College celebrated International Chinese Language Day, honouring linguistic and cultural diversity.
The centre warmly welcomed esteemed guests to join in the festivities. The event received the esteemed presence of H.E Wang LiXin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Maldives, as the Guest of Honour, alongside the Chief Guest, Dr. Mariyam Mariya, Minister of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development, accompanied by Adam Naseer, Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage. In addition to the distinguished guests, the event was attended by other State and Deputy Ministers and Senior Staff of Villa College, showcasing a collective dedication to promoting language learning and cultural exchange.
The occasion featured captivating Chinese cultural performances, including a live Chinese calligraphy demonstration by talented students from Villa International High School and Iskandhar School.
These performances not only displayed the achievements of Chinese learners but also celebrated the vibrancy and richness of Chinese language and culture, which the Chinese Language Centre of Villa College introduced to the Maldivian community.
