On the 9th of November 2023, Villa College’s first cohort of Bachelor of Pharmacy students received their White Coats and took the oath at the Ocean View Hall. This marked their formal initiation into the pharmaceutical profession, with the event starting with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Ubaidhullah Thaufeeg, Registrar of the Allied Health Council in the Maldives, conferred the symbolic White Coats upon the Bachelor of Pharmacy students. Following this, Mr. Ubaidhullah led the official invocation of the Oath, underscoring the students’ commitment to the ethical practice of pharmacy.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy programme was introduced at Villa College during the September Intake of 2023. Admission requirements for first-time students include three passes, with Chemistry and Physics, or a relevant MNQA level 4 qualification. Villa College has implemented an externship programme to ensure students gain practical experience. In the final year, students have the opportunity to participate in exposure trips to pharmaceutical factories approved by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.).
