The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced plans to reduce waste disposal fees for small and medium enterprises from February 2026.
The change follows a decision to revise the existing waste disposal fee bands applicable to SMEs. The adjustment was made after business owners raised concerns about the cost of waste disposal during a recent meeting with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, after which WAMCO was instructed to review the current structure.
WAMCO said it is now working on revised fee bands to reflect the reduction. Discussions on the updated structure are ongoing, and the corporation expects to announce the new rates in the coming days.
The revised fees are expected to apply specifically to SMEs, though further details on eligibility and implementation have yet to be released.
